Hermaphroditus and Pandora

Hermaphroditus, the divine child of Hermes and Aphrodite. Given that their parents are the embodiments of masculinity and femininity, it’s no wonder that they would occupy the space in between the binary. While later stories tried to paint it as a part of a story of tragedy, in most early depictions, they are just as they are, with no reason other than birth. A more meaningful being in that regard than a tragic waif.

Pandora, by contrast own birth as a tragedy. Not for they were born as but by how they were born. Regardless of the details, they have found their place on their own, both in their family and their tribe, and in the Moreno organization. Sharing a pantheon with Hermaphroditus, they are one of the few gods Pandora gets along on a spiritual level.

Inanna, Hakim, and Leona

Inanna, Goddess of justice, war, and love, is a foundational goddess of the Fertile Crescent. Fundamentally tied to genderfluid people and connected to their creation by the gods of Sumer. Not to say that she is a goddess always on the side of humanity. She was an antagonist of Gilgamesh, one of the earlist hero’s to have been written, and often unleashes monsters during bouts of rage.

It’s no coincidence that the figures presented are depicted doing their best to direct her fury and energy in quite separate paths. The punk and anarchist, Leona Black, wants the goddess to use her power to reshape the world, while Hakim Oni tries to steer the divinity toward introspection and forethought. Both are confident that even if the goddess nature is fickle, she will at least listen to them for advice.
